Pinterest’s Q2 performance shows that the company’s continuous investments in AI technology are positively influencing the content discovery on the platform, in addition to improving the performance of both shopping and advertisements. The AI-based strategy of Pinterest for creators and marketers works well for the platform.

The company revealed that Pinterest had 640 million monthly active users globally during Q2. Though Pinterest has not revealed the number of creators on the platform in India, it can be seen that there are many Indian creators present on the platform in different categories such as fashion, beauty, food, home decoration, travel and lifestyle.

This implies that with the growing use of AI for content discovery, creators creating quality content will get better exposure and collaboration opportunities with brands.

AI is strengthening creator discovery and advertising

Pinterest stated that their AI recommendation systems keep improving when it comes to content discovery, allowing users to see more personalised ideas. The company also mentioned that AI-powered advertising tools help brands achieve better performance of their campaigns, which allows them to grow their business.

For creators, it means a better chance of reaching relevant audiences  through better recommendations and higher performance of advertising campaigns, which will make brands willing to spend more money on such campaigns.

What creators and businesses should take from this update?

The latest findings suggest that creators should focus on publishing high-quality, relevant, and searchable content that matches audience interests for creators. With the growing role of AI in recommending content, creators who produce valuable content can benefit from increased visibility on Pinterest.  When it comes to brands and marketing professionals, it seems like Pinterest’s continued investment in AI  means that the platform will become more efficient in matching campaigns with the right audiences.

According to Pinterest, that may create better prospects for collaboration between creators and brands and increase campaign effectiveness in the future. It seems that the recent update of Pinterest shows that the company views AI as a major component of the platform strategy in the future, instead of just another feature.

Given the growing competition between social platforms, AI will become increasingly important in supporting creators’ growth of audiences and brand discovery of proper creators.

What do Pinterest’s AI strategies signal?

The latest numbers from Pinterest indicate that the company is committed to using AI as its growth strategy in the future and not just introducing features one by one. Pinterest is aiming at improving content discovery ads and shopping to bolster its ecosystem for the benefit of users, creators, and advertisers.

It indicates that AI will continue to be an increasingly important part of creator audience growth, brand partnerships, and content recommendations.
