Meta is rolling out new video-editing options in its Edits tool that will allow creators to have better control over the speed, colour corrections, layering, and organisation of their videos.
As per the news websites, Meta Edit Features are expanding as Meta rolls out various video-editing options through the Beta feature in the app. These options include speed curves, one-click colour corrections, and adjustable layers.
Meta’s new editing tools give creators greater control over videos
The new features for Anriod and iOS introduce speed curves, enabling users to manage and customise their speed variations using a personalised curve. Meta has acknowledged that speed ramping is one of the features that has been frequently demanded by users, especially by video creators. Meta is now testing out one-tap colour correction that can automatically regulate exposure, contrast, and tonal qualities, thus making the process of enhancing videos much simpler.
What creators should know?
These features are experiments and not yet permanent. The creators will have to visit the Beta tab and activate the available experiments, whereas Meta will continue improving the experience in Edits based on user feedback.
This update can help the creators and the social media team streamline their short-form video production process, as well as show that Meta sees Edits as a more advanced editor space rather than just a companion tool to Instagram posts.
The initial step to take advantage of the update would be testing these available features to see whether they can take the place of some existing part of the creators’ workflow.
