The first North East Creator Circuit drew more than 300 registrations and brought regional creators, brands and marketers into the same room, putting commercial connections alongside networking, workshops and awards.
More than 125 creators attended the first North East Creator Circuit at MAYFAIR Guwahati on 13 September. More than 300 people registered, giving the organisers a larger pool than the 125-plus creators who eventually participated.
Netive organised the event in association with Trident Brandcom. The programme combined networking and brand-creator interactions with industry talks, workshops and awards, making the commercial side of the gathering as important as creator recognition.
Seven Northeast states in one creator room
Creators from Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur took part in the first season. The event therefore extended beyond one state and brought together talent from different communities, languages and genres.
The programme also included a panel on ‘Creator Economy 2.0 – Northeast’, content workshops and a fashion show. These sessions gave creators and industry participants more room to discuss collaboration than an awards-only format would have.
Awards shared the stage with creator-business networking
The Creator Icons Awards recognised 32 creators and public figures across categories. Olympic sprinter Hima Das received the Pride of the Northeast Award, Amrita Gogoi received the Voice and Digital Impact Award, Maxina Paonam won Style Statement and Preety Kongana was named Fashion Creator of the Year. Businesses working with creators were also recognised.
Brand access was the bigger business story
For creators, the more consequential part of the event was access to brands and marketers. The programme created space for regional creators to discuss collaborations and campaign opportunities directly with industry participants, instead of relying only on follower counts or online discovery to get noticed.
A regional creator network takes shape
The Circuit is trying to connect creators from multiple Northeast states with brands, marketers and other industry participants in one regional network. The organisers’ own pitch puts commercial collaboration alongside exposure, learning and recognition, which makes the event more than an awards property.
The organisers position the Circuit as a platform for regional talent, but no second-edition schedule has been announced. Its longer-term value will depend on whether the brand-creator access created in Guwahati becomes a recurring part of the Northeast’s creator business.
The stronger story from Guwahati is the commercial organisation taking shape around Northeast India’s creator economy. More than 125 creators from seven states and over 300 registrations gave brands, marketers and creators a single regional meeting point rather than a set of separate state-level conversations.
