Meesho says the value of transactions generated through its Content Commerce ecosystem rose 152% year-on-year over the 12 months ended August 2026, supported by 1.6 lakh active creators. Most of those creators do not look like mega influencers: around 90% have fewer than 10,000 followers and 81% are from non-metro India.

Note: The 152% refers to Net Merchandise Value, or NMV, attributed to Meesho’s Content Commerce channel, and not Meesho’s total revenue or overall marketplace sales. The company has not disclosed the absolute NMV generated by Content Commerce or what share it represents of Meesho’s total marketplace business.

What stands out more than the headline growth rate is who is generating the commerce. Nano creators dominate the network, and smaller cities are producing both the creators and a large share of the orders.

Most of Meesho’s content-commerce creators have under 10K followers

Homemakers account for 40% of Meesho’s active Content Commerce creator base, while young graduates make up another 30%, or roughly 50,000 creators. Meesho also says 25% of its active Content Commerce creators are first-time creators, which means a sizable part of the network is entering creator-led selling without an established influencer career behind it.

The model is performance-linked. Creators earn commissions on orders generated through their content, including content distributed on Meesho and on third-party social platforms. More than 4 lakh sellers have opted into the ecosystem to generate demand through creator-led product content. TCI has previously looked at how creator-led commerce pushes creators beyond awareness and into the transaction itself.

Smaller cities are driving both creators and orders

Around 81% of Meesho’s active Content Commerce creators come from non-metro India, and 78% of its active homemaker creators are outside the metros. Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets such as Varanasi, Agartala, Jabalpur and Madurai generated 66% of Content Commerce orders. That makes smaller cities important on both sides of the marketplace: they are supplying creators and producing the demand those creators convert.

Video Finds has scale, but Meesho has not disclosed conversion

Meesho’s short-form video surface, Video Finds, recorded nearly 4,800 crore content views and around 9,000 crore minutes of watch time over the past 12 months. The company also says its creator network produced more than 15 lakh pieces of content during the period, as per Moneycontrol.

Women’s fashion remains the largest category for creator-led shopping, while electronics accessories, personal care and home products are gaining ground. Those viewing figures show the scale of Meesho’s content surface, but the company has not disclosed how many Video Finds views convert into purchases.

There’s also a fact that YouTube Shopping in India recently added Meesho as a retail partner, giving eligible creators another route to earn commission when viewers buy tagged Meesho products. Taken together, Meesho’s own Content Commerce network and its presence inside external affiliate programmes show creator-led shopping becoming a distribution and sales channel rather than only a brand-campaign format.
