According to  ASCI, Vision 2032 puts creator certification, disclosure and compliance alongside responsible AI and advertising policy as ASCI expands its focus from complaint handling into prevention, training and trust-building.

The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has set out Vision 2032 as its roadmap for 2027-2032 and plans three Centres of Excellence covering legal and policy, responsible AI in advertising, and creator excellence and trust. The centres are expected to be established over the next 12 to 15 months.

For creator advertising, the important shift is structural: ASCI is carving out a dedicated workstream for creator standards rather than treating influencer compliance only through complaints and existing disclosure rules. AI gets its own centre too, with planned work around synthetic media, AI-generated claims, agentic decision-making and influencer marketing.

Creator certification gets its own ASCI workstream

ASCI’s board also reappointed Sudhanshu Vats as chairperson for another term, with S Subramanyeswar continuing as vice-chairperson and Paritosh Joshi as honorary treasurer. The leadership announcement matters mainly because the same board will now oversee the shift from complaint-led self-regulation towards more preventive work in policy, training, research and technology.

Vats said the three centres are intended to help ASCI’s capabilities keep pace with AI, creators, platforms and personalisation reshaping how brands reach audiences.

Three centres will cover policy, AI and creators

The ASCI Legal and Policy Forum will bring together industry participants, lawyers, regulators, academics and consumers to examine areas that need regulatory clarity. Its remit includes research, policy discussion, guidance and industry training.

The Centre for Responsible Innovation in AI in Advertising will focus on AI across creative development, targeting, personalisation, influencer marketing and consumer engagement. ASCI says its research will cover synthetic media, AI-generated claims and agentic decision-making.

For creators, the most direct part of Vision 2032 is the planned Centre for Creator Excellence and Trust. ASCI says it will focus on professional standards and training, creator certification, disclosure and compliance, and research.

What this could change for creator advertising

Vision 2032 does not create new creator rules today. The announcement does not specify how creator certification would work, whether it would be voluntary, or how it would sit alongside ASCI’s existing influencer-advertising guidelines. What it does do is make creator training, certification, disclosure and compliance a dedicated workstream for the coming years.

ASCI is also planning a Trust in Advertising Index, industry and student training programmes, research partnerships and consumer education initiatives through the ASCI Academy. Its complaints division is exploring AI tools to strengthen monitoring while continuing its existing consumer-complaint work.

For the creator economy, the practical shift is towards more formal training, disclosure and compliance infrastructure. As AI becomes more embedded in creator advertising, ASCI is positioning guidance, training and monitoring alongside its existing complaints work.
