Threads is adding more ways for podcasters to promote episodes, surface guests and track response without hosting the audio itself. The product direction is clear: Threads wants to sit between a podcast release and the conversation that follows it.
The latest podcast features include profile and post banners, tappable episode links, transcripts, guest cards, saved episodes, release reminders and Podcast Insights. Together, they give creators more ways to turn one episode into multiple posts and give listeners more ways to discover and return to it.
Threads is not positioning itself as a replacement for Spotify, Apple Podcasts or other hosting platforms. Its bet is on discovery, sharing and discussion around podcasts, with creators using Threads as the promotional and conversational layer around the episode.
One episode can now create several discovery points
Podcasters can display banners on profiles and posts, pin an episode to highlight it and share podcast links through tappable cards. These features shorten the path from a Threads post to the full episode without moving podcast hosting onto Threads.
Transcripts, video clips and guest cards can also be shared around an episode. That gives creators multiple pieces of feed content from the same release and lets individual quotes, guests or moments become separate discovery points.
Listeners can save episodes they find on Threads, while creators can receive reminders when new episodes are released so they can promote them to their audiences.
Podcast promotion now comes with performance data
Podcast Insights gives creators data on how podcast-related posts perform, including metrics such as clicks and saves.
That adds a measurement layer to podcast promotion on Threads, allowing creators to see which posts actually drive interest rather than treating every episode mention as equal.
For podcasters, the larger change is not a new place to upload audio. It is another distribution surface where an episode can be broken into clips, transcripts, guest moments and links, then measured through clicks and saves. Threads is trying to own more of the discovery and conversation that happens before and after someone presses play.
